A former Olympic cyclist charged with lying to a federal grand jury about her performance-enhancing drug use accused federal prosecutors Monday of foul play by including "unnecessarily graphic details" of her medical records.

Tammy Thomas asked a judge to toss out her case.

Prosecutors included information on beard growth and voice changes in court filings last week as they prepared for the trial of Thomas, who is charged with three perjury counts and obstruction count for denying in 2003 that she used steroids.

The government's court filings contain two letters written in 2000 to Thomas from Dr. Margaret Wierman addressing the physician's concerns that the athlete's symptoms, which included the need to shave a full beard and the voice change, were side effects of steroid use.

Prosecutors said in a court filing Monday that they intend to call Wierman as a witness and introduce the medical records to prove Thomas was lying when she told the grand jury that she had never taken steroids.
