•  Headline News     updated  2008/03/19 06:52

A $1,000 bench warrant was issued for the actor Shia LaBeouf on Tuesday after he failed to appear in court on a charge of unlawful smoking, The Associated Press reported.

According to the warrant, which did not contain details of the location of the offense, Mr. LaBeouf, 21, the star of the forthcoming “Indiana Jones” movie and the blockbuster hit “Transformers,” was cited last month. He was scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles County court Tuesday on the misdemeanor offense, but neither he nor his lawyer showed up, according to court documents.
